International Mobility Program (IMP)

IMP allows Canadian employers to hire foreign workers without an LMIA. This program is applicable for positions that serves Canada’s cultural and economic interests. Processing is much faster and simpler for this application process.

There are various IMP streams, such as:

  • Refugee claimants, Humanitarian grounds, Vulnerable workers

  • International free trade agreement

  • Post graduate work permit

  • Bridging open work permit

  • Reciprocal youth exchange agreement

  • Intra company transfer program

  • Temporary work permit in Quebec

  • TV and film production workers

  • Athlete and staff

  • Charitable or religious work

  • Inland Spousal/Common-Law Partner Sponsorship: Open work permit

 

How to apply for IMP

  • Employer to submit an official job offer in Canada via the Employer Portal

  • Once you have the job offer, apply for TFWP

  • Once a work permit is issued, you will need to be issued a visitor visa or ETA
